Moving your furniture carefree
Moving your furniture might be the biggest hassle during your removal. It takes quite some power to lift couches, tow closets and load television stands. The need for some muscle is quite evident – but is there also an easy way to handle your removal? The biggest irritation is loosing bolts and screws when taking furniture apart. Luckily, we have some removal tips for you.
- Moving your furniture – what will you take with you?
Evaluating which furniture you want to move is probably the first step. Isn’t it easier to simply leave behind that old closet you wanted to replace anyway? It will save you a lot of towing and lugging. Do you see any other furniture you might want to sell? Saving a bit of money during your removal is never a bad idea. - Number your bolts
By numbering your bolts and screws, you will know exactly what is a match. It will come in handy during your removal and afterwards when you have to put the pieces together. For instance, you might consider using a jewellery box with small compartments for this purpose. An extra safety measure is putting all the bolts in a plastic bag first. It prevents the bolts from moving during your removal. - Hire a handyman
Can you use a bit of help moving your furniture? Another option is hiring a handyman. A handyman will not only help you to take your furniture apart, but will also help you put it together again. Have you got two left hands or a weak back, it might be a great solution. Especially since it is recommended to avoid lifting furniture with back problems anyway. Have a great removal day!
